Born in Penzance\, he is immortalised with a statue at the head of Market Jew Street in the town. However\, the Davy Notebooks Project\, led by Professor Sharon Ruston of Manchester Metropolitan University\, which involved over 3\,800 volunteer transcribers worldwide\, revealed an altogether different side to his character.   Within his notebooks\, he also penned a rich collection of poems\, from love lyrics to reflections on his scientific experiments and geology\, and travels across Europe. These works showcase both his diverse interests and something of the creative process at work. Sharon shares fresh insights from Davy’s newly edited poetry and the talk will be followed by a Q&A with the audience. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPixel Penzance Tickets: £6.00
